Rubii Red is a proud 23-year-old Lama Lama woman from the Cape York Peninsula who has grown and lived in Naarm (Melbourne) for much of her life.
Rubii Red is a proud 23-year-old Lama Lama woman from the Cape York Peninsula who has grown and lived in Naarm (Melbourne) for much of her life.
She works with traditional and digital media in her artwork, which focuses on original characters that represent her culture and community in a fun and vibrant way. Another strong theme in her work is reacting to big issues and events to visually bring awareness to these issues. Red’s next goal is to produce her own graphic novel representing First Nations people and her community.
