Shawn Lu

Shawn Lu’s works evoke notions of old European landscapes and fairy tales, inhabited by pastoral characters and old automobiles that are quietly defying the elements and their uncertain fate. His unique monochromatic and highly detailed mural work is a product of his desire to translate his artistic pen and ink style of drawing onto a larger scale.

Having travelled extensively through Eastern Europe and the Tasmanian West Coast, Lu’s detailed murals are inspired by the rugged landscape and nature that exists in those areas. His works are also informed by global events of economic downturn and the entropy and abandonment these events create.
